Digital cameras lead to a new form of piracy. The Harry Potter leakis only the latest example; authorities in Japan have been trying to crack down on digital shoplifting for years. Japanese shoppers have been using their phones to take snapshots of content like hairstyles and clothing from magazines and sending the images to friends to discuss. Apparently the Japanese Magazine Publishers Association doesn’t like this and is describing this practice as information theft, so they’ve launched a whole ad campaign discouraging it. Do you think taking a picture inside a store is really shoplifting?
Chris is always looking for innovative trends in fashion and lifestyle driven by his curiosity for the good life. He loves to stay up to date on the new in places to go, the latest in music and eccentric new concepts. What he writes about today is what you’ll like tomorrow. That is not meant to sound pompous, it is just part of being a good trend hunter, which is the art of figuring out what is on the edge. It is not about what's already popular, because what's popular is already old.
